I read the entire Agatha Christie collection as a teenager. I remember them as being very entertaining, and badly translated into Portuguese. And no, I did not have anything better to do at the time (or so I thought). Anyway, I loved the suspense, the middle-upper class settings , and a lot of the characters - not necessarily the detectives.

O veredicto não deixa dúvidas:culpado. Mas Jacko Argyle não chega a apodrecer na cadeia, onde fora preso para cumprir pena de prisão perpétua por matricídio:ele morre antes. Dois anos mais tarde, um estranho volta a mexer na mais terrível ferida da família Argyle. Teria Jacjo sido condenado por um crime que não cometeu?

supposedly one of Agatha Christie's own favorites, and I must say one of my favorites too, even though I didn't know who did it. I never figure it out. Even if I figure part of it out, she always throws in an extra element that I couldn't guess at.

Be this or any other in her collection, Christie knows how to steal you away from your world for hours and hours on go. Intriguing, hypnotizing and very easy to read. Always.

Its intersting to understand phycology of the mind. How ppl throw the blam on others to get out of the shadow of guilt and how the guilty would never speak up till the moment comes and can no longer suppress in and is pshycologically disturbed. I mean don't try toi hide from the truth coz its a fact the truth is there and it will be discovered
