rather fun - especially if you know boys like the boy here (precocious and smart but vulnerable). You can HEAR Hugh Grant while reading, which is (for me) rather distracting.

I read this book because I loved the movie. The book was way better and I struggled to put it down. Would recommend the book over the movie, or at least first :)

I loved the movie, and enjoyed the book even more! Quite an unusual idea for a storyline I suppose but really funny and heartwarming in a weird, quirky kind of way. I wish I'd have read the book first though.

Made famous by the Hugh Grant film, the story centres around an unlikely relationship between a 12-year-old boy and a batchelor in his late 30s. The fact that the boy acts and thinks like a middle-aged man and the man is just a big kid are central to the appeal of the book. Can they both grow into their ages? (Read June 2009)
