Biting, witty, cynical, highbrow humor for everyone with the ability to laugh at earnestness itself. The definition of the word "adamant" alone is worth the price of the book. Though almost every word is a gem, I think even the illiterate would find the story following the word "connoisseur" humorous. If you intend on telling the jokes in the books at a party, however, make sure everyone is wearing a top hat and monocle. Otherwise, the humor may be lost on them, and you may end up looking like a pompous snob. Then again, if you're memorizing parts of this book, you probably are a pompous snob.

The man is incredibly witty, ironic, and funny. He combines a dry, sardonic wit, with a wonderful grasp of vocabulary making for some great puns.
