This series is spectacular. It has the fun zombie gore and shamble, but it takes a serious look at humanity and survival in the face of loss and desperation. And it always keeps me shocked! Highly recommend.

A gripping graphic novel that sucks you right in. Rare in a zombie flick that one actually cares about the protagonists but it's certainly the case here. Definitely intrigued to pick up subsequent volumes.

The premise is straightforward and the dialogue is terrible, but you'll love it if you take it for what it is, a classic zombie story. The black and white panels give it an old movie atmosphere. I'm looking forward to the second volume, out of love for apocalyptic zombies, character development, and curiosity as to why the world became Zombieland.

A great graphic novel taking the premise made familiar by George Romero's Dead films and expanding on it. Where Romero's films ended with the audience left to wonder what happened after the credits have begun rolling, Kirkman's Walking Dead answers that questions and shows what happens after the credits have rolled.

Sounded very promising with a character-driven story and insight into human adaptation to extreme circumstances but I found that the dilemmas and reactions of the characters to be clumsy and cliche. Good artwork and a intriguing motif but failed to impress me enough to buy #2.

Zombies in movies, litareture and many other mediums are today a very common sight. So it's nice to something that keeps you in suspense and glued to the pages.

it's a take on what life would be like after the Dead took over; like the wheres and hows, don't let the fact that it's a Graphic novel fool you it is rich in character development and story. I first got a copy in Seattle and have been hook ever since the art is decent enough. I have 1 thru 6 time and money have kept the elusive 7th issue out of my hands, but I suggest you at least take a look and judge for yourself

It's no secret that I'm usually really not a fan of the whole "zombies have taken the over the world" subject matter, or zombies anything, really. But this is one of the best zombie pieces I've come across, movies and books included. Somewhat reminiscent of 28 Days/Weeks Later, the character development with the background of the theme of survival is brilliant. The story is very involving and intriguing, and while I would never get into such a long-running and still unfinished series, I'm thinking of actually continuing on with it, as I can't wait to see what happens with these characters and the universe next.

Thank you!

Perfeito!

Nota 10

I haven't read a comic in a while. This was recommended on GFWRadio a few months back and I finally had the means to pick it up. I only got the first volume of four issues, instead of the hardback with all of the first twelve, thinking I would save my money and see if this was actually worth it. Good god, I wish I had bought the bigger set. The art so far is great, not too stylized and it flows easy from panel to panel. I couldn't put it down, just because of how the eye kept wanting to focus on the next important thing. The writing, though nothing Hollywood zombie films haven't already done, is done well. I have hopes of it fleshing out more as the story goes on. Regardless, this is a tense story that I'd recommend to anyone who sits through good horror movies and gets up not just fearing the night, but questioning their own humanity.

This is not a zombie story, it is a story of real people dealing with the end of the world and they are the onlt few left. This series is fantasic and is so well written ot can bring you to tears. These poor people are constantly with people they just meet and they will be with them for a long time. They have to foght off zombies, but not like Dawn of the dead and Planet Terror, its zombies inplaces they don;t expect of do expect and they have to deal with it with out getting killed in the process. There is no power, food hospitals or any media entertainment. This is the story of the end of the world however the phyciscal world still exsists and there are 15 people left. Granted this a review up to volume 5. My advive is buy the Walking Dead Books not each individual comeic becasue you get so involved with it you are runing out each day to buy the next novel.

Once upon a time I was one of those women that was scared to death of zombies and I wouldn't even watch anything that had them on it. I didn't want to see pictures I would turn my head in disgust and literally run away almost screaming at the sight. I think deep down it was always the thought of 'what if' that kept me from wanting to have anything to do with a genre that is becoming rapidly more popular. Those days ended when my husband decided we were going to watch "The Walking Dead" on AMC. I was instantly hooked, and it really had nothing to do with the zombies as much as it did the humanity of the people that were still living. The books are no different. Having read the first one in a series I can honestly say I intend to seek them all out one by one.
You get a feeling of what it would truly be like to live through such a horrible plague and discover that you are perhaps one of the last living people on the planet. There is emotion, turmoil, truth and sincerity in these graphic novels as well as the show on television. You soon even begin to feel sorry for those that have been turned and you have to ask yourself what you would do if that happened to someone in your family. I must say that I was pleasantly surprised and now I'm not as horrified by the zombies as I once was. Robert Kirkman has done a phenomenal job and I can only hope he'll continue with the story for as long as he can.

I'm not one to read graphic novels, usually, but I took a chance on this one given that it's on one of my favourite topics, the undead. I think this little book is fantastic. It's not so much about the attacks of the undead, but the breakdown of society once the undead has attacked. Substitute "undead" for "terrorists" or "bird flu" or "weather disaster" and this reads like any other thriller in which a small group of survivors fight the outside and the inside world to live another day. And it's got pretty pictures to boot (well, except for the zombies, who are, of course, ugly).
