A great book that sometimes overstretches itself, Invitation is at once affective and scholarly. McGlasson writes with a pastor's heart, with a pastor's voice, but also a scholar's knowledge. This is a helpful book for those who are looking for a way through the current conservative/liberal empasse. While I cannot follow McGlasson too far, I found him enjoyable, enlightening, and constructive. He also points the way to other resources which are useful. I recommend this to those who are interested in the use (if any) of dogmatic/systematic theology. Everyone else can probably steer clear.
