Tremendous read. Not as good as an audiobook, because the narrator reads every single Scripture reference that is in parentheses, and if you know how much Piper references Scripture, you can imagine that gets a little distracting. But other than that, I got great gobs of Christian Hedonistic pleasure out of reading this book, which I guess is the point.

Outstanding book! Changed the focus of my Christian life! Helped immensely to see that duty-driven morality is so far removed from what God offers to his children! An all-time must read!

Ce carte! Bogatie de hrana si incurajare spirituala. Un om care Il cunoaste cu adevarat pe Dumnezeu. Ce deosebire fata de gramada de predicatori si de autori care vin cu o teologie superficiala, de doi bani!

The best book I've read to learn how to glorify and enjoy God forever in all circumstances. Praise Lord for what He put into Dr. Piper's heart and how He blesses me through His own words.

I remember something like this; "God employes His sovereignty to display the manifolds beauties of His perfections, His glory. He does all that He pleases to magnify the wight of His glory.." something like this. - Whenever I read Ps 27, I also remember this line.I read a long time ago, but still remember something like this; "God employs His sovereignty to display the manifolds beauties of His perfections, His glory. He does all that He pleases to magnify His glory." - something like this. Whenever I read this, I also read Psalm 27:4 "One thing I ask of the LORD, this is what I seek: that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to gaze upon the beauty of the LORD and to seek him in his temple."

Really good! Piper can string together sentences like no one else. I struggled at first with Piper's idea of Christian hedonism but after reading through the book it made more sense. This book awakened my desire for God in bold, fresh, new ways!
