Overall a good read, but I felt the author kept referring to other books he had written.

The book lacked the cohesiveness and depth it ought to have had and offers a broad tepid view of how the god hypothesis has been falsified.

Stenger puts out the same idea as Dawkins, that metaphysical claims are scientific claims, and arguably does a better job than Dawkins in showing why this is true. That said, I found the lack of depth off-putting.

I liked this one because it looked at the subject of God from a physicists point of view. Does it disprove the all around idea of God? Nah, but I never really expected it to, to be honest. It makes a very strong case against the god of monotheisms and frames the god question very well though. This is very readable (something you can't say about many physics books) and I highly recommend it.

Makes a good case that science and reason disproves the existence of defined gods (all proposed gods that have been assigned specific traits, abilities, attributes, personalities, behaviors etc.), and that while not able to disprove the undefined, ethereal, hidden, unrevealed, undetectable gods of no consequence, convincingly argues that they may as well not exist.

I enjoyed this book. The concept of maximum entropy at minimum volume in the early universe really lays to rest all arguments based on design.

Pretty good. Stenger took the approach that if the Christian-Judao God exists with the attributes that most practicing Christians believe he has, then there should be some evidence for it. Stenger investigates many different areas of the world and beyond and concludes in each one that the world is exactly what we would expect if there were no God.It\'s nothing revolutionary and I prefer other books in the genre (God Delusion for example) but it\'s good and quite readable.

Could have said the same thing in 1/4 of the pages. Uses some good logical arguments, but then gets too technical late in the book.

I am almost finished with this, it was not as in depth with examples as I had expected, however it was not a let down by any means. A nice summary of the problems with any theology debate of God "hiding" in physics.
