It took me a couple chapters to start to like the author as a human being, but by the end, I found myself sharing her sentiments and laughing out loud.

This woman writes for a living? I'm sorry I just hated this book. I couldn't get into. I wanted to like it..really...but ugh I can't believe I wasted my money on this. Seriously

Just finished (9/4). Very funny, very entertaining, very intelligent. This is a collection of essays by a thirty-something writer in NYC. I've read lots of books by "the next David Sedaris" but this writer actually deserves that description. A young, straight, female, more cynical David Sedaris.

Funny. Fluffy. A good read for when you don't really want to think. The chapter about her plastic horse collection is the best.

Some pretty funny stories (most toward the end), some pretty funny portions of otherwise mediocre stories, and some just "eh" stuff.

A book of anecdotal essays with reviews that compare the writer to David Sedaris should be both entertaining and witty. These were neither. I stopped at the fourth essay and offered it up to the "free book rack" at our vacation rental.

Sloane Crosley's essays are as hilarious as they are awkwardly charming. She has the talent for telling deeply personal stories of a David Sedaris or Augustin Burroughs, but the voice is all her own.

barely got through it, skipped some boring parts. a few interesting stories but she meanders a bit much for me. Would not purcahse another book by Sloane Crosley

Non-Fictionessays of a Jewish girl raised in a non traditional Jewish family...Sloane shares life experiences and lessons through a simple one chapter (essay) format. Some stories were really cute...others...ummm...not so much..
