I hated this book. Throughout the whole thing, I kept reading because I was trying to get t the part that people kept saying was so good, and I never did find that "good part." It was AWFUL. Sinister and dark with major religious parallels. I own two more books by Dekker that I've not read, but that I purchased because people raved about him as an author. I'm seriously considering tossing them after having read this book. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

So this is actually the prequel to Saint. So far it's not keeping me as interested as Saint did. It's actually the story of how Saint came about.

This is a really interesting book, all of Ted Dekker's books are, I can't really explain this book, but its part of a series, this is the first one, then Saint and then Sinner....I haven't read Saint or Sinner yet so I can't really review that series....

A bit out there for me but at least we can see how good vs evil and how evil may seem like it has won, but in the end good prevails.

For allegories on "the Word made flesh", "faith like a child", and a father's sacrifice, this is the book. Puts in motion an exciting Trilogy (so far) revolving around 3 very powerful people and issues in this world. This book demonstrates to an extreme how Sin affects the human heart, mind, body, and soul. Literally. If you like suspense, action, and a small amount of "light gore", than this book and the other two (so far) "Saint" and "Sinner" are ones to read. I say "so far" becuase as of now there are three books in this series but the main plot device the author uses can allow him to "add-on" to the series at any point in time. It's pretty neat.
