I actually found this book a good read. I can't say it was enjoyable, because it's not that type of subject matter, but there were numerous times that I totally empathized (and sympathized) with the main character.THE ALMOST MOON is no THE LOVELY BONES, and I don't believe it was meant to be. Some people are going to like the book, and others will hate it, but I think it was a good showing of Alice Sebold's range in fiction.

This book was a chore to get through. This could have been a very interesting story, however the author couldn't decide from one sentence to the next if she was going to tell you about the past or present. In addition character's names were changed as in referring to them by their last name for an entire chapter before referring to them by their first name without clarifying that this was the same person. The course of events remained unclear for most of the book and what I found most annoying is that the ending was left completely open. So, not only had the Alice Sebold never developed the character enough that one could infer what she might do at the end but the entire story felt unresolved.

I understand the theme of the book, but didn't like the plot. The plot didn't grab me and I had to struggle to finish the book.

haven't fully gotten into this book, and may decide not to continue with it. The main character is so unlikeable I just can't relate!

Got bogged down and put it aside for the time being. I liked the Lovely Bones better.
