Great book, well 3 great books actually. It took me a while to read because I'd set it aside to read other books, but I finally finished it tonight. The ending felt totally rushed and left me wanting. However, Dan Abnett did an excellent job weaving a tale about duty, honor, sacrifice, temptation, and near-damnation. He conveys the dark and depressing future of the Warhammer 40K universe excellently, and weaved together the sci-fi, fantasy, and horror genres the setting encompasses very well. I doubt I read this again, but I will certainly read more of Abnett's Warhammer 40K work.

Easily one of the greatest Warhammer series ever written, and up there for great scifi books in general. Eisenhorn combines mystery, action, politics, and ethics into one great thought provoking look into the Inquisition and what it means to be good or evil.

Set in a depressingly dark future, altho this trilogy doesnt break new ground... its simply just badass brutal sci-fi that is begging to be turned into an action flick.

The first-person perspective takes some getting used to, but the action starts with the first paragraph and never lets up. It's a hard-boiled detective drama in the most hard-boiled of settings.

Dan Abnett does a wonderful job with this detective style warhammer 40k character. It was great getting a look at how planets are during peacetime around the 40k universe.
