I'm not a great review writer. But I think this novel was a fantastic start to probably one of most enjoyed series to date. I've read hundreds of books and series and this series in particular is in my top 10 series. There are several authors and what I find fascinating is that this has and continues to be a very intricately written collaboration. If you like the 40k Universe. This is a good bit of fluff that you really should read.

I'm more and more impressed by 'Horus Heresy' books, perhaps because I've expected a basic 'hack&slash' storyline and instead I'm being presented with well-concieved and grand tale that actually has certain depth. It's been a long time since the last occasion I could say this, but I'm really looking forward to finishing this trilogy.

Geez, these guys don’t let up! Book two of the series picks up where book one left off and doesn’t lose pace. The description of the other primarchs like Angron and Fulgrim are amazing. The description of Horus’ corruption is really good. And they mentioned one of the more mysterious primarchs; Ferrus Manus.
