Whilst interesting... I feel like the overarching story line is slowed. After all that is happened, reading it all again but through the eyes of Fulgrim is somewhat testing on the patience.

That being said, there are some very interesting parts, especially in the second half of the book when the pace picks up.

Not the best of the Horus Heresy series to be sure, but functional and plays up the fluff well. Drags in a few places but overall a readable if not fantastic part of the series.

Book 5 of the Horus Heresy. A good read that covers the seduction of Fulgrim, Primarch of the 3rd legion, The Emperor's Children, into the arms of chaos.

I think that this was pretty good. Some of it was a little sketchy, but over all it was a good read. Fulgrim is a bad ass.

This is one of those `can`t put down` books. This is about how the Emperors children Legion were turned to Chaos and although it is obviously fiction, it is believeable too. One of the best books I have ever read.......and that is saying something!

I love this One. It tells about One's strive for perfection which led him to a dark path ... losing his soul in the process and falling into Damnation ... And add to the mix of betrayal, pain and suffering of the characters. Mcneill's plot is so immersive and so good it'll kepp you hooked ... a must for a warhammer fan.

This was a really good book to read. It starts off with alot of Chapter Origin, but it paces well into the Horus Heresy. A great descent into Chaos.

Starts off in what's become the "typical" Horus Heresy story: A stoic Marine holding his ground while his Legion degenerates around him. However that character is killed off fairly early and the book get much better as it goes on.
Pretty sure this is the only Black Library book with a 100,000 person blood orgy! Not to mention a guy who gets killed by a groin impalement.
Wish more time was given to the "Dropsite Massacre" though, being that its one of the most important events in Human history but it could be covered by subsequent books.
