It is a book about a Grey Knight, a hunter of daemons in the fictional universe of warhammer 40000. After the human army he is part of suffers a crushing defeat, he is captured by the enemy, taken to a Daemon World and forced to fight as a gladiator in games dedicated to the Chaos god Khorne, god of Blood and hatred etc. The whole story revolves around the question of how much can or should a person do in order to survive without becoming everything he/she has fought passionately against.

an amazing book, great culmination of the grey knights series, i loved it and would read the whole series again anytime!
