A childhood dog-eared copy recently went missing. Much mayhem ensued on a subsequent visit home... but well. Time to buy a new copy, methinx. What a fun read!

Good read, but at times it seems like Jules Verne is documenting all the nautical knowledge that was known at the time the book was published. There are a lot of lists of sea creatures and vessels, etc. It did leave me wanting to read The Mysterious Island, so that may be next on the list.

So boring. Only read if you like biology. It is my opinion the Verne lived through his books, writing about all the adventures he never actually had. Expect more of an academic book than an adventurous one.
