A good book that makes a topic like punctuation/grammar interesting to read. Love this classic punctuation joke from the cover:

>>>>>>>>
A panda walks into a cafe. He orders a sandwich, eats it, then draws a gun and fires two shots in the air.

"Why?" asks the confused waiter amidst the carnage, as the panda makes towards the exit. The panda produces a badly punctuated wildlife manual and tosses it over his shoulder.

"Well, I'm a panda," he says at the door. "Look it up."

The waiter turns to the relevant entry and, sure enough, finds an explanation. "Panda. Large black-and-white bear-like mammal, native to China. Eats, shoots and leaves."

I LOVE Lynne Truss. "Talk to the Hand" is also wonderful. I read both, and then borrowed the audio version of "Talk to the Hand" - a great choice, since it is read by the author, and all of the nuance remains.

If you're a "stickler," like myself, you'll love this. Remember, the "panda says NO!"

This is quite a useful book. It emphasizes the importance of using good grammar. *Sigh* I wish my facebook friends who cannot tell the difference between "your" and "you're" would read it! LOL!

Both nerdy and sassy - how could I not love it? Truss is a renegade punctuation stickler. She made me rethink my (ever-changing) opinion of the semicolon; furthermore, I fully empathized with the stories about heated punctuation debates with copy-editors! STET.
