Excellent read. Short stories are to the point yet excellent detail and understanding of the characters. You can relate to them, regardless of race, age or gender. I really like the author and how the book (and her others) are written...almost more than the stories themselves. :)

Lahiri set the bar high with her first book. I look forward to seeing if she can match the brilliance of Interpreter in future efforts.

Its a compilation of few of the best short stories i have ever read. These stories are light hearted and humorous describing incidents and circumstances of life that could leave profound influence on the reader, probably making them more understandable, sensible and kind.

The best aspect of the book is that there are no clichéd images either of the Indians or of the Americans. Everybody is portrayed as normal people with normal jobs, perhaps with some unusual experiences.
