As with all of Gaiman's books, you grow attached to his characters. Fat Charlie and his brother Spider are two of a kind; at times silly and at times roguish but overall, always charming. I'm sure you'll enjoy the journey of the Anansi brothers as much as I did.

This was a very entertaining and funny read. The overall story itself wasn't what made the book, rather it was the characters, "Fat Charlie Nancy" his brother "Spider" their father the Anansi god, Lion, Bird, and numerous others made the story great. That and the various creation and stories interspersed throughout the book make the book great. The story of how Anansi took all the world's stories from Lion, who had owned them but didn't tell them nearly as well (according to Anansi) was my favorite.

Highly enjoyable! It's more on a "lighter side of Neil", very humorous, despite the few obligatory murders.

Fabulous and well written. Neil Gaiman weaves an excellent tale using ancient myths with modern culture. I listen to most books on audio and the narrator for this one, Henry Lenny, is a master of his craft too. The story of "Fat Charlie" Nancy, a timid man who discovers that his father was the God Anansi and that he has a brother he never knew about. Having never been close to his father or even aware of the world of the gods, Fat Charlie is pulled into the world of West African folklore by his suave and enjoyment driven brother Spider. Some adult content (light language & adult situations) but nothing that will make anyone blush who doesn't already get embarrassed by relatives. At worst its 'PG-13' material, but I'd label it a 'PG.' Really liked this one!

Listened to Lenny Henry's oral interpretation; what a performance! There are few readers like Lenny Henry and I was fortunate enough to find this. Great plot, characters, theme--you name it!
