An extraordinary read. At age 11 Li is chosen to train at Madame Mao's dance school and leaves the rural village where his family lives in utter poverty. He trains with determination and rises above the challenges and gets invited to dance in America. He defects and joins the Housten dance academy becoming one of the world's best ballet dancers. His autobiography is compelling and inspiring. This edition has 3 new chapters filling one in on his life up till 2009.
