A fantastic book that is definitely worth reading. Certain aspects remind me of the Harry Potter movies. The viewpoint of the Elphaba seemed much more interesting than Dorothy's perspective.

I think it was interesting. Definitely makes me think differently about the 'Wizard of Oz'. After Dorothy appeared in the story, the ending sped up dramatically.

Slightly jarring version of the Oz we all grew up with, with irreverent takes on nearly everything we're all familiar with. Nonetheless, it shall be a classic in time.

Awesome twist on the simple children's classic! Reminds you that reality is skewed by each individual's perspective; Without conscious thought on the matter, we can easily fool ourselves into thinking that our perspective is the only absolute truth in existence - dangerous! Fantasy, reality, open minds... Intellectually fun! You can really have a great time over-analyzing this one :)

I'm actually re-reading this book. I loved it when I read it years ago, just after it was released. I plan on seeing the show when it comes to my area next year so I wanted to refresh my memory.

Disappointing = (not like the play! The story had so much potential, but was too smothered by political opinion, religious views, and general theology. Kind of like a cake with too much frosting, the goodness of the cake is lost by the overpowering frosting, not even the good DQ frosting, more like the on sale wall-mart frosting.
