Amy Tan weaves stories in the most magical and heartbreaking ways. The passions and struggles and things unsaid that bend through the prisms of a mother's and daughter's love is beautifully crafted in this book.

Great Story of a mother and daughter and the struggles for women in Asia's patriarchal world. Great Story, enjoyed it, eye opener as to what Asian women had to endure. In a culture dominated by patriarchs, and it's self serving customs.

I thoroughly enjoyed this. It looks heavy going, but is actually very easy when you get into it. Sad, but ultimately uplifting and rewarding.
